Planet positive
NTT DATA Group leverages the power of technology to reduce the environmental impact of its business and lead the regeneration of the global environment. Under the pillar of Planet positive, we are committed to addressing Climate Change, Circularity, and Water Management as key material issues.
We aim to achieve Net-Zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions across Scope 1–3 by 2040, while also promoting the circular use of resources and efficient water management to support a sustainable future. As a global data center operator, we are committed to fulfilling our environmental commitments while continuing to grow our business.
Climate Change
Building a Sustainable Society through Climate Action
As global efforts toward decarbonization continue to accelerate, NTT DATA is actively addressing climate change.
We are not only working to reduce our own greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions but also contributing to our customers’ GHG reductions through our products and services. In addition, we are focusing on measures to prepare for natural disasters and mitigate related risks. Through these initiatives, we aim to realize a sustainable society.
NTT DATA NET-ZERO Vision 2040
NTT DATA has established its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction target as the "NTT DATA NET-ZERO Vision 2040" and obtained SBT certification in March 2024.
In terms of direct and indirect (Scope 1 and 2) emissions from our own operations, we aim to achieve Net-Zero emissions in our data centers by 2030, across our entire company including offices and other facilities by 2035, and across our entire supply chain by 2040.
- * SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) is an organization that encourages companies to set science-based emissions reduction targets for the purpose of limiting the rise in average global temperatures to 1.5ºC above pre-industrial levels and that offers approval for such targets.

Circularity
Toward Sustainable Resources Use
As the shift toward a circular economy gains momentum worldwide, we are working to use resources efficiently and repeatedly without waste. By promoting the efficient and circular use of limited resources, we aim to reduce environmental impact and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.
Through our solutions, we also support the transition to a circular economy across society as a whole.
Water Management
Responding to water stress with sustainable solutions
As the global supply and demand gap for fresh water continues to widen, NTT DATA Group is working on water resource management, particularly in high water-stress areas. In our data centers, we are optimizing water use for cooling and humidity control to minimize resource waste.
To conserve natural capital and ensure its sustainable use, we identify regions with high risks related to water and biodiversity and engage in initiatives such as reducing water withdrawals and discharges and protecting ecosystems. By enhancing our understanding of the relationship between economic activities and natural capital, we aim to contribute to the realization of a nature-positive society.
Addressing Social Issues through Business Activities
NTT DATA contributes to solving social issues through its business activities and engages with stakeholders to promote the development of a sustainable society.
